The hand of Siza Vieira

Siza Vieira’s touch at Pico da Vigia

Pico da Vigia holds within it a dialogue between tradition and modernity. Some pieces of furniture were designed by architect Siza Vieira, each with a discreet yet unmistakable presence. Beds, bedside tables, sofas, wardrobes, and chairs coexist with antique-style furniture, creating a natural balance between past and present.

Two of these pieces were designed specifically for Pico da Vigia: the Santa Bárbara Chair and the Santa Bárbara Wardrobe, both named in honor of the parish where the estate is located. True to his unassuming style, Siza Vieira created pieces without excess, where form follows function. As he says, he likes "a chair to look like a chair."

Here, no element competes for attention. Each one is equally important.
